About Me

Hello lovely people,

Thank you for passing by Simple Food Simply Food.

It’s been great fun to put this together and I hope this will come to help for many of you out there. Simple Food Simply Food   is mostly a home cooking blog using simple ingredients. I am looking forward to sharing my cooking styles, recipes, tips and a lot more.

Why Simple Food Simply Food? I believe in the simplest things in life.  They truly make each and every moment magical to me. Life moves pretty fast and the simple things keep me grounded and make me see how everything is beautiful. The name was suggested by my boyfriend who also encouraged me to start blogging. He has been after me to create this blog since 2 years already! But I had a pretty hectic life.

I am not a chef! I am just an individual who loves food and loves sharing :)  I started cooking at a quite young age, making my first pancakes at the age of 6. When I was 2 years old, my mum would give me a wooden spoon and a pan while she was cooking in the kitchen, so as for me to stay quiet. And I would make as if I was the best chef in the world, and would ‘cook ‘along with my mum :D . As I grew up, I started helping my mum in the kitchen.  I would always be cooking and baking for the family during weekends and holidays. I learnt cooking and a lot of tips from her. She is the bestest mum in this whole universe and I can’t thank her enough for what I am today.

I started cooking on a daily basis when I moved to London in 2008. I studied for 5 long years at 2 of the London’s universities (nothing related to cooking though) and eating a simple good homemade meal would just brighten me up after the long lectures! At home, we normally have Asian and Mauritian Food which are laden with flavours and aromas. This blog involves a lot of these 2 cuisines along with other cuisines that I am still discovering and trying and happy to share.

This blog is not possible without you. Please do subscribe and let me know your thoughts and if you would like to ask a question or request a recipe, you are all very welcome to do so. I hope Simple Food Simply Food becomes a place that brings recipes and useful tips to students studying away from home and to the food lovers out there! : )
